It sure is shaping up to be a great weekend for fourth of July activities! With the temperature looking to be in the 80’s, it is going to be a great weekend to go see The First and Main First Saturday Car Show. Bringing people of Colorado Springs together for a historic, fun-filled, family friendly environment. This event is hosted in the parking lot adjacent to Tuscanos in the First & Main Town Center on Cinema Point. The event is hosted by The Southern Colorado Chevelle El Camino Club, as the host they will be providing a number of cars old and new, to give the spectators the best of both worlds. This event is free to the public and a great place for family’s and friends alike.
If the car shows isn’t up your ally than you can of course take the family to the Mount Herman up in Monument and go hiking or even mountain biking. And right around the corner from the mountain is Monument lake which is a great spot to go fishing (with proper licensing of course), and why not stop by the Rock house in Monument for a nice refreshing ice cream cone to help cool you down after a long day of family friendly fun!
And for the big day its self you may be wondering ” Gosh where am I going to go see fireworks this year?” Well the answer may not be so easy with places to see the beautiful display being in high Supply. You can see the Summer Symphony at Memorial Park in Colorado Springs. This event will honor troops from Fort Carson, food vendors, and the Colorado Springs Philharmonic leading up to the fireworks display at 9 p.m. Or if your a little more north most of downtown Monument will be closed to make way for a series of events overtaking the town. This includes a Fun-run, pancake breakfast, street fair and parade through town. These events will start at 7 a.m and are expected to end around 7 p.m. Please have a happy and safe 4th of July and drive safe when on the roads from all of us here at McCloskey Motors Happy Independence Day!
